I would like to draw the attention of readers of scottishstage to the revival of the Tron Theatre, Glasgow’s superb production of Dermot Bolger’s exceptional stage adaptation of James Joyce’s great novel Ulysses, which plays the Paterson’s Land venue during the forthcoming Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

From Andy Arnold’s tight and intelligent direction, to the atmospheric and beautiful design by Charlotte Lane (set and costumes) and Sergey Jakovsky (lighting), and the universally brilliant performances of the Irish-Scots cast (which includes Jean-Paul Van Cauwelaert and Muireann Kelly), it was, for me, the finest production on the Scottish stage in 2012. I am delighted that, following its success in Glasgow and Ireland last year, this world-class Joyce adaptation is reaching a wider audience.

Ulysses is at Paterson’s Land, Edinburgh, August 9-25, 2013. For more information on the production, and to buy tickets, visit: http://www.patersonsland.co.uk/ulysses.html
